How do I pay my sponsorship money?You can either bring it on the day or send your sponsorship form along with a cheque made payable to BEL/Yellow Umbrella Day for the appropriate amount to Yellow Umbrella Day, c/o Chiswick Park Enjoy-Work, Building 3, 566 Chiswick High Rd, London W4 5YA. Closing date for cheque is the 1st December 2009.
How much sponsorship money should I raise?We ask people to raise as much as possible. The charities we support appreciate the efforts made and thank you for your assistance.
Where does my money go?The charities that are being supported this year are
The Kids Cookery School,
The Log Cabin and
The Shooting Star Children's Hospice. If you have chosen to walk/run for all three charities, then the money will be split equally between all three charities. If you only wish to support one of the three charities please indicate which one on your fundraising form and we will make sure your funds only goes to them.
Why is there an entry fee?The entry fee is in place to cover all administration costs of organising Yellow Umbrella Day. The fee is £10 per individual or £15 per family. All of the money raised by you in the form of sponsorship will go directly to changing a child's life.
What happens if it rains?
Yellow Umbrella Day will only be cancelled in cases of severe weather conditions, where people's health and safety will be at risk.
Can I enter on the day?
Yes but you need to be here early to register and to avoid disappointment. Registration is open between 9.30 - 10.15am.
Do I have to run the course?
Yellow Umbrella Day comprises of two events in one. You can walk in the 5K Mini Umbrella or take part in the 10k run. There is also a 10 meter Woddle for the toddlers, taking place in the Park at 12pm.
What facilities will be available on the day?
The course will be lined with fully trained marshals to ensure maximum enjoyment and safety for everyone. There will be water stations located at regular intervals throughout the course. Toilets will also be provided at various stages on the course. Food, drinks, live music and entertainment will be available after the run and walk at Chiswick Park.
